Remember - Motorsport can be dangerous. Despite the organisers taking all reasonable precautions, unavoidable accidents can happen. In respect of these you are present at your own risk. The Orkney Motor Club operates in accordance with the MSA rules and regulations, and Orkney Motor Club supplimentary regulations.

Directions

On the day of the Autotest the gate to the site will be open and flags will mark the entrance.

To get to Caldale from Kirkwall

With the cathedral front on your right, drive along Broad Street and at the corner of the Clydesdale and TSB banks, turn left down Castle Street.  At the end of Castle Street turn left and follow the road, straight over the roundabout.  Then take the second turn off right, marked “Orphir” and follow this road out of town.

Once out of the 40 zone you will go through a series of corners and up a hill past the Incinerator (on the right).  You will now descend the hill and on this stretch of road there is a smaller road signposted “Bloomfield” on the right.  Take this turning and follow the road for 1.2 miles.  You will pass the site entrance gate on your left, and you should be able to turn around a little further on to enter the site through the gate.

To get to Caldale from Stromness

With the pier on your right, follow the road over the roundabout and out of town. After you leave the 40 zone, carry on until you cross a bridge and take the turning right marked "Orphir" that is soon after this bridge. Now follow the road for 15/20 minutes and you will arrive in Orphir Village. Carry on straight through the village and continue on the road along and past the "Hobbister straights". You will ultimately arrive in another 40 zone which has "Marness Garage" on the right hand side, about half way through the zone. Continue out of the 40 zone and immediately after the first bend left, take the turning left marked "Bloomfield". Follow the road for 1.2 miles. You will pass the site entrance gate on your left, and you should be able to turn around a little further on to enter the site through the gate.
